HEARTH- Olmstead Green

Hearth is a non-profit organization dedicated to the elimination of homelessness among the elderly. This mission is accomplished through a unique blend of prevention, placement, and housing programs all designed to help elders find and succeed in homes of their own. Hearth at Olmstead Green in Dorchester provides 59 permanent homes for homeless individuals age 62 and older. Olmstead, and all housing operated by Hearth, provides supportive services that assist residents to age with dignity, regardless of their medical or mental health. The new building, surrounded by trees, is made all the more welcoming by new art donations. Art is installed in the main entrance, in common areas such as the library, computer lab, dining room, and game room, and in high-traffic hallways near the elevators, laundry rooms and activity room.
