Urban Edge

Urban Edge's mission is to help develop and sustain stable, healthy, and diverse communities in Jamaica Plain, Roxbury, and surrounding neighborhoods.  Urban Edge achieves this mission through the production and preservation of affordable housing, homeowner services and financial education, asset management, commercial and economic development, and community building and organizing initiatives. Their newest building, Jackson Commons set to open this summer is a mixed-use, mix-income development with 37 apartments and a neighborhood learning center located in Jackson Square. There will be eight units dedicated for homeless households and the rest for those living below the area median income. 

Art is displayed in the reception area, intake offices, community room, and in conference rooms where programs, such as first-time homebuyer education, are held.  The art helps convey Urban Edge’s mission and provide an atmosphere in which families begin setting goals for themselves and thriving.
