Lowell Community Health Center
Lowell Community Health Center provides primary care and behavioral health services to residents of the Greater Lowell area, targeting individuals who are medically underserved, uninsured, and low income. Poverty, cultural factors and language issues limit access to quality health care for many members of the Greater Lowell community, particularly recent refugees and immigrants. Due the range and complexity of these issues, LCHC's patients suffer from a lack of primary and preventative care, are more likely to suffer from depression or other mental health conditions, and often present with extraordinarily complicated conditions compared to the general public. At our Warren Street location, which house Family Practice, Women's Services, and Prenatal Services, donated works of art help us provide a welcoming, positive, and uplifting space for the many patients we will serve each year. Since the visual arts represent an international language, donated works of art speak volumes, making our patients feel welcome, comfortable, and inspired.
