St. Francis House
St. Francis House was established in 1984 in a response to a lack of day time support and services to Boston’s poor and homeless population. As the largest day shelter in New England, they provide their guests with a safe, warm, and inviting environment. Donated art will hang in the atrium, housing resource center, counseling waiting area, Next Step transition housing program, library, day center, and Moving Ahead Program (MAP) to improve the appearance in these areas of major guest activity and to inspire and comfort guests. In turn, it is hoped that the guests will feel more welcomed and increase their feelings of self worth.
