City on a Hill Charter Public School II (CoaH II) is a
charter public high school in Dudley Square, part of the larger City on a Hill
Charter Public Schools network. The school opened in 2013 and serves 192 9th
and 10th graders, and will serve grades 9-12 and 280 students
annually by 2016. Over 80% of the students are from low income families. The
school mission is to graduate responsible, resourceful, and respectful
democratic citizens prepared for college and to advance community, culture, and
commerce and to compete in the 21st century.
All artwork was selected by the students in the CoaH II Art
Club. This collection is installed in the school’s main hallways to inspire
creativity, create additional opportunities for learning, and to help address
the cultural achievement gap between CoaH II students and their more affluent
peers.
